Mental Health First Aid Facilitator for Mental First Aid
About the Program
The Mental Health First Aid Facilitator is responsible for delivering engaging and informative Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training sessions to various volunteer groups, including MKs, settlement and other portfolios’ volunteers.
About the Role
Roles and responsibilities :
- Deliver MHFA training sessions according to standardized curriculum and guidelines.
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Utilize various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
- Provide accurate information on mental health topics.
- Assess participants' understanding through various assessment tools.
- Offer guidance and support to participants in developing mental health first aid skills.
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions and participant attendance.
- Collaborate with program manager to tailor training sessions.
About You
Skills and Competencies :
- Certification as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor or the capacity to become certified.
- Proven experience in facilitating training sessions or workshops, in mental health or a related area.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and effective teaching strategies.
- Ability to handle sensitive topics with empathy and professionalism.
Nice to have skills :
- Working knowledge in French, Urdu or Farsi.
- Proficiency in using technology and digital tools for training delivery and administration.
