HSE Advisor, Program Development – CDN – Calgary, Alberta
CDN is a recognized industry leader in the energy services sector. CDN is a full-service provider with expertise in Electrical & Instrumentation maintenance, renewables / solar, major projects, combustion & emissions reduction, and measurement. We are looking to hire an HSE Advisor, Program Development based out of our Downtown Calgary office.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, develop, implement, and evaluate health & safety policies and programs.
- Design safety standards to conform to industry standards and federal, provincial and local regulations.
- Update the Health & Safety Management System in relation to updated legislation.
- Provide advice and counsel to management and other employee groups on a broad range of occupational safety issues and decisions.
- Provide guidance to field personnel via safety briefings.
- Direct and review the analysis of accident and injury data, identifying the needs for new or modified occupational safety programs.
- Work in conjunction with leadership on the development, implementation and management of the Health and Safety Management System.
- Provide program training to HSE team and management teams to ensure the acceptance and compliance of health and safety policies and procedures are understood and are integrated throughout the organization.
- Suggest improvements in tracking and reporting of metrics.
- Produce and communicate health and safety reports on a regular basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Related post-secondary degree or diploma and typically 3-5 years of related HSE experience, or combination of formal education and experienceNational Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) is requiredCertified Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) is preferredValid class 5 license with a clean drivers abstractKnowledge of Health & Safety Legislation and safety best practicesUnderstanding of current Occupational Health and Safety Legislation, Regulations, Codes of Practice, Bulletins and other safe work practice requirements and recommendations.Attentive to detail and demonstrated organizational skillsAbility to manage time and prioritize projects and daily tasksProficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Suite and Power Apps.Benefits
