Senior Financial Analyst

Overview
Our team is currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst. The candidate would be part of the Inventory and Rebate Accounting Department and be responsible for performing a variety of accounting and analytical tasks. The candidate will work on an individual and team basis within the Finance department. This position reports directly to the Manager, Inventory and Rebate Accounting and is based in our Edmonton Corporate Office.
Responsibilities
- Assist with month‑end close activities including preparing journal entries, account variance analysis and account reconciliations.
- Work closely with the Buyers and Purchasing team to monitor, analyze and adjust cost factors.
- Perform margin analysis, provide financial insight to support informed decision‑making.
- Assist with Inventory Cash Forecast and provide forward‑looking analysis to enhance working capital management.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve financial models of Inventory balance to support operational activities and long‑term strategic forecasting.
- Perform in‑depth monthly analysis of the FDB pool, including freight, duty, tariff, and brokerage costs.
- Assist with the forecasting of FDB pool & Import Adder.
- Serve as the key finance point of contact for Franchise team regarding inquiries related to Sales, COGS, delivery, sell‑throughs, price protection, etc.
- Coach and provide support to junior, intermediate analysts to improve team’s performance and efficiency.
- Perform complex ad hoc requests from management.
- Document key financial processes, models, and assumptions to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer.
- Assist with interim and year‑end audits.
Qualifications
4+ years of working experienceBachelor’s degree in accountingAdvanced skills in spreadsheet and relational database applications : Excel, MsAccess, VBA, SQLStrong financial analytical skillsKnowledge of Oracle is an assetAdaptable and resourceful when working on time‑sensitive deliverablesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsBenefits
