Solmax is currently looking for the next : Global Director of Commercial Excellence

Role

The Global Director of Commercial Excellence will spearhead efforts to enhance both the effectiveness (focusing on doing the right things) and efficiency (focusing on doing things better) of Solmax's Sales organization globally. This role emphasizes leveraging data analytics and digital technology to drive measurable value creation, foster collaboration across regions, and establish best practices to optimize sales performance worldwide. Current priorities include :

  • Collaborating with regional teams to uncover, quantify, and capitalize on commercial opportunities.
  • Leading harmonization efforts across regions to ensure alignment with global standards and benchmarks.
  • Providing strategic insights to the executive team on internal performance, external trends, and opportunities related to strategy, business models, and value propositions.

Performance Optimization in the Sales Organization.

Customer-Centric Processes and Metrics.

Data Strategy & Digital Transformation.

Leadership & Change Management.

Commercial Transformation of the Sales Organization.

Ideal profile

  • Proficient in structured listening and questioning, with a strong focus on understanding both the intellectual and emotional aspects of communication.
  • Extensive experience in commercial strategy, sales strategy, marketing, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Deep understanding of financial information and related data modeling, particularly profit and loss (P&L) statements.
  • Experience in market and competitive research, with a background in manufacturing.
  • Excellent quantitative analysis skills, creativity in problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Good knowledge of business processes, principles, theories, and concepts, with a general understanding of industry practices, techniques, and standards.
  • Extensive experience in statistical analysis and variable-based models, including data profiling, exploratory data analysis, descriptive and diagnostic analytics, and some data mining techniques.
  • Understanding of database architecture and functionalities, data visualization principles, data processes, and metrics.
  • Project management certification such as PMP or PMI-ACP.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability and willingness to quickly adapt to new working environments and industry / company specifics.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to use independent judgment to identify root causes of problems and develop solutions for a variety of issues with moderate to large scope and complexity.
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work with limited direct oversight, maintaining a remote relationship with a manager.
  • Openness and curiosity for continuous learning and development.
  • Growth mindset.
  • Systems Knowledge ( must have )

  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience with PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, such as Salesforce.
