Role Overview :
Cheme Electrical Engineers will be technical experts that have achieved subject matter expertise in one or more technical areas within Cheme to ensure implementation of best practices and excellence in project execution. Electrical Engineers are responsible for ensuring successful execution of deliverables and effective utilization of resources.

- Medium Voltage Distribution
- Low Voltage Distribution
- Motor Control Center Design
- Fault Current Analysis
- Grounding
- VFD’s and Motor Controls
- Explosive Environment Applications (dust and vapours)
Duties :
Understand each overall project.Coordinate with Mechanical and Architectural disciplines.Manage assigned team members.Coordinate with international design offices on project work.Provide technical leadership on assigned projects.Prepare engineering calculations.Develop engineering drawings (single lines, risers, layouts).Prepare construction specifications, user requirements, functional specifications, and scope documentation.Develop templates and tools for discipline area.Create training materials.Maintain industry knowledge for discipline area.Deliver training in technical lectures for junior staff.Train and mentor junior staff.Attend factory acceptance testing and on‑site coordination and execution of commissioning and validation activities.Travel to client sites for site review and troubleshooting.Minimum Required Education :
Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized Canadian university.Professional Requirements :
Authorized to practice by PEO.Core Competencies :
Electrical engineering skills with ~5-7 years of current work experience.Field experience is a strong asset.Management of projects, systems and the potential to manage staff, clients, money, and business relationships.The potential to supervise and lead a team.Training and development of junior staff.Proficiency in written and spoken English with the ability to communicate clearly with clients.Adept at dealing with clients and other people in a professional and courteous manner.Knowledge of common business practices and techniques such as quoting, preparation of requirements, marketing and sales.Proficiency with Microsoft operating system and Microsoft Office Suite to navigate a server environment and prepare engineering documents.Valid driver’s license and car.Knowledge of OHSA and the Green Book as it applies to construction in general and electrical construction specifically.Seniority Level : Mid‑Senior level
