Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered up with The Fertility Partners (TFP) on their search for a Senior Legal Counsel, Regulatory Law to join their team in Toronto, Ontario.
The Senior Legal Counsel, Regulatory Law, oversees the healthcare regulatory regime for TFP clinics and other business streams to ensure that practices are on-side and contribute to reputational excellence.
The role involves both one-off assistance in incident management and the development of a regulatory framework for the clinic network.
The Senior Legal Counsel, Regulatory Law, is responsible to assist clinic leads with College and Health Canada inspections, respond to regulatory inquiries, serve as a liaison with regulators, determine and coordinate key performance regulatory indicators, and provide general guidance and support to TFP fertility clinics, in coordination with other stakeholders as appropriate.
Senior Legal Counsel, Regulatory Law, role is a member of the TFP Legal team and requires providing legal advice and support based on knowledge of compliance best practices, and relevant legal principles.
The successful incumbent will influence and negotiate to achieve business objectives and work to achieve organizational goals while minimizing legal and regulatory risk.
Your Responsibilities :
- Provides advice, coaching and guidance to legal team and stakeholders as required.
- Oversee regulatory laws and risks and ensures they are practiced within both TFP and the clinic network.
- Prepare and launch network wide protocols, coordinate spot audits, and measurable best practices.
- Plan, prepare, and review regulatory documentation and ensure suitability for submission to regulatory agencies.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and represent the company at industry and regulatory forums.
- Provide regulatory legal advice, guidance and support for strategic transactions based on knowledge of best practices and legal principles.
- Identify regulatory legal risks and implements appropriate actions to address and mitigate them.
- Research and analyze legal resources such as statutes, judicial decisions, and legal articles as needed to prepare legal and regulatory documents.
- Act as a subject matter expert on contract review, strategic transactions, including monitoring legal, regulatory and market developments and supporting our knowledge management.
- Negotiation of legal documents and development of policy positions.
- Clarify and resolve compliance related queries and general requests, on a day-to-day basis from clinics, auditors, and internal staff, specific to regulated health professions
and generally.
Stay current on legislative changes and revise precedents and protocols checklists to ensure compliance with new legislation and changes to internal processes.
Your Requirements :

- LLB or JD and member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- 6+ years’ since called to the Bar.
- Knowledge and understanding of healthcare law.
