On behalf of our client within the Federal Government, we are recruiting for a Programmer Analyst to carry out development activities on a range of infrastructure-related initiatives.

• Document and script infrastructure as code (such as AWS CloudFormation, Red Hat Ansible, Chef, Puppet and / or Terraform).
• Create and modify screens and reports.
• Implement systems to support projects, departments, organizations or businesses.
• Develop requirements, feasibility, cost, design, and specification documents for systems development and implementation.
• Design, develop and provide engineering support for existing COTS and custom software through their life cycle, including performance tuning.
• Coordinate application testing within a controlled environment for new and existing COTS and custom products.
• Provide technical assistance in resolving incidents and problems.
• Provide assistance to team members with respect to installation, configuration, and product use and problem resolution for COTS and custom products.
• Work with ITIL-based processes (i.e. : Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release management, Deployment management etc.

• Provide input for continual service improvement based on the ITIL framework.
• Participate in meetings and working groups as requested by the TA.
• Draft responses in the preparation of briefing notes and responses to management inquiries.
• Gather and analyze data for the conduct of studies to establish the technical and economic feasibility of proposed computer systems, and for the development of functional and system design specifications.
• Analyze and research product bulletins and security bulletins and produce required reports and risk analyses.
• Assess and document risk potential with respect to the impact of deploying patches to the production environment.
• Design, develop, test and implement methods and procedures for small computer systems, and sub-systems of larger systems.
• Produce forms, manuals, programs, data files, and procedures for systems and / or applications.
• Document and conduct problem analysis, testing and troubleshooting and provide recommendations for the best resolution to clients.
• Collaborate with the Technical Writer to develop technical documentation to be used as SOPs and guidance for configuration, installation and deployment for COTS products.
• Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to other members of the team through training, SOPs, documentation and job shadowing.
• Provide written reports on the progress of all assigned tasks / deliverables when requested by the TA.

Requirements

• Ten (10) years of experience within the last fifteen (15) years as a Programmer / Analyst.
• Experience creating and / or modifying code in a minimum of three (3) of the following languages :
• Visual Basic
• Pearl
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience within the last ten (10) years writing and testing programs and scripts in support of an automated software release process and COTS products.
• Five (5) years of experience within the last ten (10) years troubleshooting software installation problems.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years using an Enterprise Information Technology Service Management System (such as Assyst, Remedy, or Support Magic) for tracking items such as tasks incidents, problems, changes.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience within the last five (5) years supporting Software as a Service Product (such as Office 365, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, etc.).
• Experience providing user support, troubleshooting and problem resolution for each of the following in a similar IM / IT environment :
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 or newer
• Antivirus and computer security solutions (including Symantec’s Norton, McAfee or other similar major corporate antivirus and computer security solutions)
• Office 365
• Java version 1.6 or newer
• Online SharePoint
• Microsoft 365
• Experience using and troubleshooting Active Directory and Group Policy Objects.
• Experience producing scripts or applications related to the build, test or application / OS distribution using SCCM 2007, 2012, InTune or higher WMI or PowerShell.
• Experience producing forms, manuals, programs, guidelines, standards and procedures for systems and / or applications.
• Experience using an Enterprise Information Technology Service Management System (such as Assyst, Remedy, Support Magic) for tracking and managing change and release items.
