Position Summary
Reporting to the Public WorksManager, the Fleet Supervisor / Planner is responsible for the day-to-dayoperations of the Fleet Department. They are responsible for the planning and coordinatingthe service and repairs to the Corporate fleet which includes vehicles andequipment from Public Works & Environmental Services, Fire, Clerk &Community Services, and the Growth and Infrastructure Departments.
Duties
- Oversee the daily operation of the Public WorksFleet department as well as the Public Works stock and inventory controldepartment, making health and safety a priority
- Supervise and provide guidance, correctiveaction and performance evaluations to the mechanical team, including mechanics,welders, equipment service personnel, stock and inventory control personnel
- Plan, schedule and manage the Corporate fleetpreventative maintenance program, safety inspections, clean air testing andequipment overhaul programs, as well as provide all required information tomaintain the City’s CVOR
- Use the electronic work order system (Maintstar)to create, track and close all work, and track statistics, mileage, hours andother key performance indicators (KPI)
- Assist in the preparation of all capitalexpenditures relating to the Corporate fleet
- Responsible for ensuring full utilization,availability and regular maintenance of all of the Corporate fleet
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budgetand management of the approved budget relating to all Public Works vehicles
- Ability to efficiently address equipment needsas requested by various departments (i.e. Public Works, Public Utilities)
- Responsible for scheduling maintenance activityfor winter and spring night shift operation and for after-hours emergencyrepairs, including outsourcing of repairs when required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Two(2) year College diploma in either Business Administration, MechanicalEngineering, or a current Automotive Service Technician with a 310T Licence. Acombination of relevant education and experience may also be acceptable to theEmployerMMPdesignation would be considered an assetAminimum of three years of supervisory experience in mechanical equipmentmaintenanceExcellentoral and written communication skillsComputerLiteracy utilizing Microsoft Office (word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) aswell as preventative maintenance softwareStrongplanning and leadership skillsValiddriver’s licence; Class G or higherCurrent and clear Criminal RecordCheck with Judicial Matters CheckHow to Apply
