Optix is looking for a Full Stack Engineer to help us evolve from a rules-based automation platform into a leading conversational, agentic workspace management system.

You'll build AI-powered features that help coworking and flex space operators save hours daily while driving revenue growth. Working closely with our Technical Lead and product team, you'll focus on full-stack feature delivery—building the data pipelines, integration patterns, and user experiences that bring AI capabilities to life in our platform.

This is a rare opportunity to grow your AI engineering expertise in a profitable, proven SaaS company. You'll work alongside experienced AI leadership who will help you become expert-level in AI development while you leverage your strong full-stack fundamentals to ship meaningful features.

Note : This is a hybrid opportunity for someone based in Vancouver, BC (60% in our beautiful waterfront Gastown office, 40% from home).

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-stack software engineering experience with modern frameworks
• Strong proficiency with backend development; we use PHP / Laravel and MySQL (experience with these is highly valued)
• Solid experience building and scaling backend systems with REST / GraphQL APIs
• Strong understanding of databases and data flow patterns; data engineering experience is a plus
• You have experience with AI APIs and built something that taught you how they work in practice
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them thoughtfully
• You understand that AI features require different thinking about quality, testing, and user experience than traditional features
• Strong problem-solving skills and systems thinking about integration patterns
• You're empathetic and can work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• You can clearly articulate your technical reasoning to both technical and non-technical team members
