What You Will Do
Supervise and provide direction to staff aligned with policies and procedures and standards of professional conductAssist in ensuring that Team Leads and Direct Support Specialists (DSS) are scheduled in the homes in accordance with the funding guidelinesCollaborate with Managers and Board-Certified Behavior Analyst where applicable to develop monthly activity recreational planCollaborate with Management to ensure follow through on contracted services, including the Individual Support Plan (ISP) / Plan of Care (POC), Behaviour Support Plan (BSP) protocolSupervision / Management
Supervision and management of staff, Team Leads will report directly to this role.Assist in ensuring adherence to policies and procedures as well as regional licensing requirements. Escalate issues when required.Assist in training and onboarding of Team Leads and Direct Support Specialists in collaboration with Operations Managers whenever possibleAssist in ensuring Team Leads and Direct Support Specialists are well aligned with the Key Accountabilities of their role and are meeting performance expectations including execution of recreation and activity plans.Recruitment of front-line staff.Conduct probationary reviews and annual performance reviews and performance management, and improvement plans.Contribute to solutions and support, often in collaboration with the Manager, when there are challenging performance issuesDelivery of disciplinary warnings and terminations.Ensures that mandatory and annual training requirements provided by Human Resources are complete and gaps addressed.Report workplace injuries in reporting system and the workplace injury report is forwarded to the appropriate manager.Documentation And Administration
Provide support and guidance to Team Leads with ensuring accurate records of house petty cash and the client’s personal cash, escalating concerns or challenges to managers when needed.Assist with monitoring client’s finances (expenditures, reimbursements, may include reconciling the client’s personal funds at month end). Completes audits as per policy.Required Qualifications
What you will need to be successful
Minimum 2 year of experience in a supervisor or leadership role in a service-focused organizationMinimum 3 years of experience working directly with clients with higher behavior support needs, intellectual / developmental disabilities and / or mental health diagnosisDemonstrated Client-centred focus with a commitment to providing quality care.Valid Class 5 Driver’s LicenseValid Vehicle Insurance with $ 2,000,000 liabilityPreferred Qualifications
Secondary Education or certification in Health, Business, Health Administration, or related fieldStrong knowledge of the health care system, and experience in home and community careKey Skills
