Location : Advantage Assist / Asura Health Head Office, West Edmonton

Hours : Temporary Full-Time, FTE 1.0 (3-month contract - starting January 13, 2025)

We are currently seeking a Recreation Therapist to join our Advantage Assist team at our head office in West Edmonton. This is a temporary full-time position (75 hours biweekly).

As a Recreation Therapist with Advantage Assist, you will :

  • Provide guidance on best practices for recreation activities across our seniors living sites.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate safe, person-centered recreation programs.
  • Support residents and families by promoting independence, dignity, and well-being.
  • Educate on the benefits of recreation and leisure for holistic health.
  • Deliver care that respects resident choice, safety, and individual needs.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Maintain confidentiality and foster a secure environment.
  • Travel periodically throughout Alberta to support our sites.

  • What you bring :

  • Registered and in good standing with ATRA
  • Experience working with Seniors would be an asset
  • Minimum of 2 years post designation experience
  • Dementia Care experience an asset
  • Diploma / Degree in Recreation Studies or adapted Physical Education preferred
  • CPR / BLS for healthcare provider required.
  • Demonstrated skills in communication, teamwork, organization, and customer service.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to person-centered care.
  • Ability to problem solve through critical thinking.
  • Enthusiastic attitude and energy to provide excellent care and service
