Job Overview
The Principal Coordination Spec is responsible for interpreting internal or external business issues and recommending best practices. They will be tasked with solving complex coordination-related problems and will work independently with minimal guidance. The Principal Coordination Spec may be responsible for leading Functional Teams or projects and is regarded as a specialist in the field of coordination. As such, they must have in-depth expertise in coordination as well as broad knowledge of the coordination discipline within the Onshore Mechanical and Rotating Equipment Construction function.
Compensation
Compensation ranges between 124,624.56 CAD - 162,713.75 CAD. In addition, McDermott Energy Solutions Canada offers a competitive total rewards package for supporting the project.
Essential Qualifications and Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or a related field
- 7-10 years of experience in construction with an emphasis on Construction Planning
- Moderate knowledge of MDR construction planning procedures, progress systems, material management systems, document management, and timekeeping systems
- Intermediate knowledge of MDR construction planning procedures, progress systems, material management systems, document management, and timekeeping systems
- Conversant with international codes and standards like ANSI, ASME, API, BS, NFPA, etc.
- Familiar with SP3D / E3D / Navisworks
- Familiar with stick-built and modularization approach
- Recording and communicating Lessons Learned
- Advanced MS Office skills, specifically with Excel and Access
- Experience with WorkFace Planning
- Acts as a technical specialist within their area
- Is a team leader; does not formally supervise
- Has developed depth and breadth of knowledge / skills in own area
- Applies knowledge / skills to complex problems, coordinates work beyond own area of expertise

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Manage and support Subcontracotrs with the development of the field Construction Work Packages ahead of ConstructionDevelop scopes of work to be issued to SubcontracotrsResponsible for the implementation in the areas / disciplines assigned via continuous collaboration and analysis of field execution, providing all necessary information to provide the Construction Manager with the tools to make informed decisionsMonitor site construction to ensure compliance with project standards quality and safety standardsInterface with the Construction Supervisor, Project Controls, and Subcontractors to support updates to the 6WLA and WWPMonitor and facilitate subcontractor compliance with the Subcontractor Execution Plans and detailed Weekly Work PlansSupervise installation and final alignment of rotating equipment (e.g., centrifugal pumps and Compressors), ensuring compliance with API 610, API 617, and ASME B31.3 standardsSupport subcontractor millwright teams in precision alignment and installation of rotating machinery, ensuring tolerances meet OEM and project specificationsCoordinate with vendors and technical specialists during inspections, troubleshooting, and commissioning of rotating equipmentReview and interpret mechanical drawings, datasheets, and vendor documentation related to rotating equipment scopesEnsure rotating equipment activities are integrated into daily work plans and aligned with project milestones and safety protocolsProvide hands-on guidance and mentorship to millwrights and mechanical trades, fostering technical excellence and field readiness#J-18808-Ljbffr
