Job Description :

Our large Canadian Retail client is seeking a Graphic Designer to join their team! The Graphic / Production Designer is responsible for creating and producing assets for multiple channels, including print and digital, to support the marketing efforts of a large Canadian retail company.

This role requires a creative thinker with a passion for design, a strong understanding of retail and promotional advertising principles, and the ability to produce high-quality presentations, mock-ups, and creative concepts.

Key Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with a team of designers to build assets for various channels within the marketing team, such as weekly emails, multi-page print flyers, and resized images for social media.
• Create accurate creative assets within scheduled deadlines, adhering to the technical and creative standards of our brand design system.
• Attend pick-up meetings to gather accurate information for ongoing projects, resolve discrepancies, and ensure marketing needs are met.
• Translate weekly creative assets from content briefs and pick-up meetings into accurate creative assets for various channels and projects as required.
• Upload creative files to the content store, ensuring proper tagging and compliance with required standards.
• Continuously review and ensure adherence to our extensive brand design system guidelines.
• Work closely with the Content Manager and Program Managers to discuss and resolve the use of photography, backgrounds, and special treatments.

Requirements :

• Diploma in Graphic Design or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 to 7 years of graphic design experience.
• High proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Knowledge of Figma and XD is a plus (must be willing to learn).
• Passion for design and a creative thinker with fresh, current, and out-of-the-box ideas.
• Strong understanding of the principles of retail and promotional advertising.
• Ability to interpret needs and data creatively and develop innovative solutions.
• Proficiency in producing high-quality presentations, mock-ups, and creative concepts.
• Ability to evaluate the reusability of existing photography and determine the need for new photography.
• Strong communication skills to effectively translate ideas into creative presentations.
• Proficiency in using image banks and electronic image archives.
• Ability to prioritize workload and meet tight deadlines.
• Independent, proactive, and able to take initiative.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and integrate smoothly with others.
• Strong understanding of type formatting.
• Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain a calm demeanor and work cooperatively with others.
• Willingness to go beyond expectations, find novel solutions, and provide additional options for presentations and projects.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is the equivalent of $30 to $31 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
