The Product Development Intern will be responsible to assist with various aspects of product development working closely with our team of designers, product developers to complete projects and requests, validating products in development, evaluate samples and conduct product testing and generate reports.

Assist in maintaining studio and showroom.

What you’ll do to be successful in this role :

  • Assist the team with completing CAD models, renders, proof of concept studies, and prototypes for client presentations.
  • Prepare artwork to complement design concepts for a range of categories and retailers under tight timelines.
  • Develop and update specifications accur ately and on time including data and drawings for production in SolidWorks (CAD software)
  • Review and document samples.

Requirements

What you’ll bring

  • Enrollment in a post-secondary degree / diploma in design (industrial, environmental, architectural) is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a product development field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of using 3D & 2D software tools including SolidWorks and Adobe Creative Suite to create impressive presentations and accurate production data.
  • Works independently and collaboratively as part of a team within strict deadlines.
  • Polished, professional presentation with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organization skills and a strong sense of urgency with a customer service mindset.
  • Indisputable integrity as well as credibility and demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others.
  • Strong work ethic with proven ability to adapt to changing priorities with a positive attitude.
  • Mature analytical and evidence-based decision-making style.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with an appreciation for design, trends, and housewares.
