Under the direction of Leadership, the Protection and Control Technician receives and carry out work assignments from management and internal customers. These assignments support shop operations and completing customer orders.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform replacements and upgrades of protection systems, including but not limited to Feeders, Breakers, Transformers, Buses, and Line Protections.
• Collaborate effectively with clients and on-site construction personnel to ensure seamless project execution.
• Demonstrate proficiency in safely isolating Protection systems from service, including associated SCADA, P&C / Control, and previously energized CT / PT secondary circuits, with a strict adherence to safety protocols to ensure zero energy discharge.
• Possess the knowledge and skills to successfully deploy newly modified Protection systems, in conjunction with associated SCADA, Control, and CT / PT secondary circuits.
• Conduct thorough functional verifications to ensure the proper functioning of these systems.
• Take a leadership role in guiding and supervising junior and intermediate P&C technicians involved in the activities.
• Candidates with prior experience in utility or industrial settings are strongly preferred.

Additional Information

Travel : Up to 80%

Compensation : $50 - $75 hourly depending on experience

Physical Demands : Lift up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
