JOB SUMMARY
: This is a 10 month position under the direction of the school principal. The successful candidate will coordinate and deliver restorative action programs to students, staff, parents and the community. The worker will provide youth in crisis and conflict with training, assistance, support and service in developing life skills related to conflict resolution techniques, self-awareness and a respect for others.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Commitment to the ideals and principles of Catholic education
- A post-secondary degree in a related human services field with preference for social work, education, human justice or related field of study
- A minimum of five years related experience working with youth in conflict, violence, and threat assessment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with conflict resolution, mediation and student coaching
- Demonstrated experience working with various communities to set and achieve goals
- Knowledge of First Nations, Metis and / or Inuit cultures, family systems and general competencies related to "Newcomers" and immigrant populations
- Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills
- Experience planning, organizing and delivering training programs to individuals and groups
- Strong partnership development competencies with ability to articulate what successful community engagement strategies could be
- Knowledge of community partners and service providers
- Demonstrated computer competencies
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's licence
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :
