Position Summary
Reporting to the Aquatics Program Coordinator, the Instructor / Guard is a dynamic individual who possesses enthusiasm and experience to ensure the ongoing safety of our patrons, and to provide professional instruction in a variety of aquatic activities at Harbour Pool.

Qualifications, Duties and Responsibilities :
- Maintain minimum qualifications (Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor (and their prerequisites), Standard First Aid / AEC, and National Lifeguard) a copy of all current awards must accompany application.
- Pool Operators, LSI, Lifesaving Society Trainer, First Aid / AEC Instructor would be considered assets.
- Lifeguard, instruct and perform maintenance tasks as required.
- Prevent injuries by providing public education, enforcing safety rules and regulations, and responding appropriately in the event of an emergency.
- Ensure that aquatics center is clean and safe by completing required maintenance tasks.
- Maintain a positive work attitude, creating a professional and positive image when dealing with the public.
- Ability to organize, set priorities and complete multiple tasks, while being adaptable to last minute changes.
- Provide exceptional customer service to team and patrons.
- Attend mandatory training sessions throughout the year.
- Assist with various other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate must be available to work varying morning, mid-day, evening and weekend shifts, between the hours of 5 : 30 a.
m. 10 : 45 p.m. Preference will be given to candidates with two or more years of Instructor / Guard experience.
This position is within the scope of C.U.P.E. Local 30, and as such, you will be required to adhere to the articles contained within the Collective Agreement.
A Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check will be required upon hire.
Rate of Pay : Additional qualifications may increase the salary range
Hours of Work : 30 hours per week, seasonal shift rotation
