Your work environment at EXP
Under the leadership of the Project Manager in our Windsor, ON Office, the Geotechnical Engineer will participate in the conception and development of various commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects in the Geotechnical and Materials testing field.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
- Carry out a wide range of Geotechnical projects including Geotechnical Investigations and Materials testing projects.
- Project coordination including arranging utility locates and site access, perform borehole layout.
- Prepare proposals for Geotechnical investigations and Materials Testing projects.
- Prepare geotechnical reports with deliverables within submission deadline.
- Collect samples for environmental (analytical) testing and prepare chain of custody form for submission to an independent laboratory.
- Assist with Inspection and Testing projects from a review / reporting perspective.
- Manage several projects in Geotechnical and Materials Testing area.
- Attend site from time to time to carry out footing / rebar inspections.
What your experience looks like
Engineering Undergraduate Degree (Civil Engineering or Earth Science)Registered as a P.Eng. or P. Geo. is preferred although EIT is acceptable3+ years of experience in a similar role is preferredWorking knowledge of Excess Soils Management (O. Reg. 406 / 19) is preferred but not necessaryAbility to understand and resolve problems while on construction sitesAble to read drawings and specificationsAbility to exercise diplomacy and tact when interacting with fellow staff, clients, consultants and contractorsExcellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsAbility to write clear field reports, including making recommendationsStrong organizational and time management skills as well as attention to detailPossess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for travel to construction sites as neededEXP subscribes to the Workplace Equity Program.
