We invite applications for the position of : Floor Covering Installer (0930) Under the supervision of the Director of Operations or designate, perform inspections of existing floors to determine unsafe conditions, repair / replace floor coverings using a variety of equipment and complete all associated documentation.
- This position may be required to start work at various project locations. Successful applicants will have : completed Grade 12;
- B.C or Interprovincial Trade Certificate in the floor covering trade; the ability to read plans and specifications for the flooring industry;
- the ability to estimate costs and time required to perform the work and make suggestions for material and equipment improvements;
- the ability to complete and maintain a variety of documentation such as time cards, work orders and inspection reports; a demonstrated knowledge of safe use of power tools and equipment required to carry out the duties;
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate; valid B.C. Drivers License; The following would be considered an asset : two (2) years experience as a journeyman level floor covering installer (including experience with flooring maintenance and repair);
- First Aid Level 2 Certificate. Applicants will be expected to : have knowledge of current construction / maintenance safety practices;
- possess the physical condition and health to carry out the required duties of this position; maintain good interpersonal and communication skills;
have working with Microsoft outlook, word and excel and work order system; complete SD23 online safety training. This is full time continuing position starting as soon as possible, working 40 hours per week at a wage rate of $35.
88 per hour, as of July 1 / 2024 plus a comprehensive employee benefit package including extended health and dental coverage, short term and long term disability insurance and participation in a defined benefit pension plan.
