In addition to our Client’s master-planned communities, they are in the construction and planning stage of over 20 projects encompassing commercial, mixed-use, and residential projects, with the potential to build over 21,000 residential units and 4 million square feet of commercial space.
Our Client is seeking a talented and experienced Director / Manager of Interior Design to join their award-winning team and transition the interior design scope of their projects in-house.
About the Job
As our Director / Manager of Interior Design, you'll oversee everything from sales centers to interior suites, ensuring our brand shines through every space.
Here's what you'll be up to :
- Concept Development : Create and apply brand directions for various projects.
- Team Collaboration : Work with marketing and project teams on space planning and design solutions.
- Budgeting : Develop and manage interior design budgets for suites, lobbies, and amenities.
- Guidance & Specifications : Write and guide specifications, review drawings, and ensure standards are met.
- Site Coordination : Attend site meetings and coordinate FF&E installations.
- Sales Collaboration : Collaborate on theming for sales offices and display homes.
- Display Home Setup : Plan and set up display homes with all necessary furnishings and décor.
- Team Building : Hire, mentor, and lead an in-house design team.
- Best Practices : Establish design best practices and standards.
About You
Design Management Extraordinaire
You're a seasoned interior designer with 5-7+ years of experience, especially in multi-family residential projects. Here's what you bring :
- Education & Credentials : Diploma or degree in Interior Design; NCIDQ certification is a plus.
- Industry Experience : Solid background in multi-residential construction and interior design coordination.
- Tech Savvy : Proficient in design software like AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, with Revit as a bonus.
- Organized & Detail-Oriented : Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail.
- Leadership & Communication : Excellent design, leadership, and communication skills.
- Problem Solver : Resourceful and solution-oriented, with a knack for timely task completion.
- Relationship Builder : Ability to foster relationships with trades and suppliers.
- Material Knowledge : Understanding of finishing materials and their performance standards.
- Design Passion : A keen interest in design and merchandising trends.
- Adaptability : Able to adapt to market and logistical challenges.
- Driver's License : A valid BC Driver's License and reliable vehicle are required.
