What you’ll be doing in the role :

  • Acts as a strategic partner to the Executive Leadership Team to set HR priorities for the business and develop a variety of projects that contribute to organizational effectiveness
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure accurate and effective communication of HR policies, practices
  • Advises and coaches managers and employees of interpretation of human resources policies, procedures and practices
  • Maintains optimal use of HRIS platform; Ensuring data accuracy and integrity, analyzing and reporting on key metrics and insights
  • Performs full-cycle recruitment including creation of job descriptions, drafting advertisements, advertising opportunities through various resources and mediums, pre-screening, interviewing and selecting candidates for any open positions
  • Provides full-service HR support including, but not limited to, data analysis, coaching managers on effective process and consulting with them to understand the needs of the business and managing employes effectively
  • Identifies and ensures the company is in compliance with all government legislation including, but not limited to, the Ontario Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Act (fi applicable), AODA, Pay Equity Act, etc.
  • Identifies and champions initiatives that support employee engagement and employer brand awareness
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and drives the HR roadmap
  • Acts as a resource of the Health and Safety Committee
  • Ensures proper execution of transactional HR activities like compliance administration, maintaining and updating all employee information
  • Administers compensation and benefits programs
  • Presents to various departments and groups on HR programs and initiatives
  • Keeps abreast of HR trends, issues, legislation and best practices
  • Advises managers in the administration of progressive discipline, employee relations counselling and terminations
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures, including Health and Safety
  • Demonstrates good judgement and respects the confidentiality of company personnel information
  • Deals professionally and courteously with all internal and external contacts
  • Seeks guidance and direction as necessary in the performance of all duties
  • Identifies and champions initiatives that support employee engagement
  • Maintains all employee files in a accurate and confidential manner
  • Supervises and coaches Human Resources personnel

Here’s what you will need to be successful :

  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources or related area of study
  • CHRP or CHRL designation
  • Minimum 5 years’ progressive experience in a Human Resources role
  • Minimum 1 year of experience supervising HR personnel
  • Excellent computer skills including HRIS, MS Office. CRM is an asset.
  • Experience overseeing Human Resources functions in a multi-site organization is strongly preferred. The ability to travel occasionally to other locations is required.
  • Strong business acumen with a proven track record of working strategically and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders of various levels and functions.
  • Advanced working knowledge of applicable Ontario Human Resources legislation, best practices and procedures
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work with diverse employee groups across multiple sites.
