Job description

Responsabilities

  • Responsible for verifying the completeness and accuracy of allocated files processed by the Pension Officers.
  • Processing a designated section of files as relief for the Pension Officers.
  • Provide technical direction to Pension Officers and assist in monitoring compliance and KPIs.
  • Knowledgeable of the administration system as related to processing and will be a resource for problem solving for processing staff.
  • Process a section of termination / retirement files which are allocated to this individual.
  • Review and approve for pension calculations.
  • Ensure Pension Officers meet established service targets and process files consistently.
  • Update the processing manuals for both plans for Plan amendments, legislative changes, or system changes.
  • Respond to escalated telephone enquiries from Participants and employers and those referred by Pension Officers.
  • Make presentations to Member groups.
  • Assist with training of CSR or Pension Officers when required.

Qualifications

  • 3 – 5 years experience in defined benefit pension administration.
  • Knowledge of Federal and Provincial Pension Legislation
  • Knowledge of Income Tax Act and how it relates to pension administration.
  • Above average Working familiarity of Microsoft Office
  • CEBS or PPAC certificate is preferred.
  • Above average communication skills both oral and written (English)
  • French language skills would be an asset.
  • Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Active listener with excellent communication skills.
  • Sound judgement and critical thinking.
  • Compensation

  • 55k –85 Base Salary (based on experience – negotiable)
