About The Role
The primary objective of the Process Engineer is to provide technical support to improve and maintain the performance of plant operations through process and quality data analysis, field measurements, equipment inspections, improvement projects, and technical recommendations. As part of the Process Department, the engineer continually supports the plant’s current and long‑term goals, moving the plant toward great performance and manufacturing the highest quality cement that meets customer demands while respecting the environment.
What You’ll Accomplish
- Safety : Assist in the implementation and compliance of the Lafarge Safety Program to ensure personnel work in a safe manner in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Production : Work closely with the production department, interacting with CROs, assisting production personnel in troubleshooting and solving operational problems, and collaborating with the automation group on control system development or modification.
- Optimization : Conduct process optimization through technical studies, trials, project modifications, process measurements, establishing operating targets, and data analysis.
- Quality : Collaborate with the quality department for raw mix homogeneity improvements and follow up on clinker and cement quality.
- Continuous Improvement : Identify, participate in, and / or lead continuous improvement projects.
- Environment : Assume responsibility for environmental monitoring and projects, taking measures under process control to prevent any environmental incident.
- Maintenance : Work closely with the maintenance department on inspections and improvements.
- Equipment Performance : Strive for continuous improvement of equipment performance, reliability, efficiency, and effectiveness as an active member of the Process Improvement Team.
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies : Demonstrate communication, improvement, and adherence to these policies in all work environments, promoting a culture of safety.
What We’re Looking For
Education : Bachelor’s in Engineering. Preferred fields : Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering. Other engineering fields (e.g., Geologic, Metallurgical, Electrical, Industrial) may be considered.Required Work Experience : 3 to 5 years of continuous process industry experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the cement industry. Other industry experience (e.g., pulp / paper, steel, glass, lime, petroleum, chemical) may be considered.Required Technical Skills : Solid understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, chemistry, physics, and mathematics.Travel Requirements : 10%Additional Requirements
Bilingualism.Experience in a culture that placed strong emphasis on self‑sufficiency and service orientation.Proven analytical problem‑solving ability, particularly for technical problems.Familiarity with environmental regulations in continuous co‑process manufacturing is a plus.Adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize‑approved PPE, including respirators (clean‑shaven for seal fit).What We Offer
