Position Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of defence projects within the business, aligning with budget, scope, and schedule while collaborating with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed project plans including work breakdown structures, resource allocations, budgets, schedules, and key milestones.
- Ensure projects are delivered on‑time, within scope, and within budget.
- Manage internal and external project teams to achieve client satisfaction with performance, schedule, and budget metrics.
- Lead and support proposals for existing and new customers and review administration of additional subcontracts.
- Identify and capture new business opportunities with existing and potential customers.
- Maintain accurate critical path schedule models and initiate corrective action plans to stay aligned with deliverables.
- Work closely with stakeholders at all levels, providing clear expectations, recommendations, and status updates while removing barriers to success.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Commerce (or a related field) or a Technologist diploma.A PMP designation is considered an asset.Experience
5+ years in a project‑management environment with large, cross‑functional projects.Experience in defence, satellite communications, or other technology sectors is an asset.Strong interpersonal, decision‑making, and ambiguity‑navigation skills.Willing and able to travel internationally.Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.Clear sense of urgency, a “can‑do” attitude, and focus on positive customer experience.Lead continuous improvement while building relationships and delivering service excellence.Demonstrated ability to develop and execute projects and process‑improvement initiatives (planning, requirement gathering, data analysis, reporting).Flexibility and calmness managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, with creativity and innovation.Knowledge of theoretical and practical project management aspects.Ability to gather, prioritize, and simplify complex information for appropriate audiences.Proactive, critical, independent decision‑maker.Excellent written and oral communication skills, collaborating with stakeholders at all levels.Ability to lead high‑performing teams to maximize outcomes.Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with ability to follow through and deliver results.Problem Solving
