This position is primarily responsible for fundraising support to Mon Sheong Foundation by identifying, soliciting and securing donations.

The officer works with the Development and Communications team to ensure fundraising initiatives are carefully planned, executed to maximize financial support according to the strategic and operational plans of a $30M capital campaign.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grow and manage a portfolio of annual donors and prospects through the development of cultivation and solicitation plans to engage mid-level donor portfolio (annual gifts of $2,000 $10,000).
  • Develop and implement strategies, and programs for donor acquisition.
  • Research and maintain a donor prospect list and active pipeline of quality prospects.
  • Develop and deliver on donor communications strategy. Work with Development and Marketing team to deliver on online fundraising opportunities and campaigns.
  • Work closely with Development colleagues to ensure successful execution of fundraising and stewardship strategies for mid-level donor portfolio.
  • Implement best practices in peer-to-peer fundraising to increase participation and event revenue (including sponsorship) and inspire, motivate and steward a portfolio of fundraisers and volunteers.
  • Assist in the maintenance and updating of donor records on the database including contacts with donors, correspondence sent, thank you calls, event attendance, and meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of donor and gift data in compliance with CRA regulations and internal fundraising and finance guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in fundraising, public relations, business, marketing or relevant field
  • Minimum of 2 year experience working in a fundraising environment
  • An ability to create powerful, compelling written and oral communication for fundraising and present it in an engaging way to external stakeholders
  • Experience writing for digital fundraising, engagement and storytelling, with a clear understanding of what message reaches which people best at this right time.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with ability to communicate in Chinese an asset
  • A donor-centric professional who loves to meet and engage with donors, including prospects
  • Excellent time management skills and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and professional demeanour
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Fundraising database (Raiser’s Edge experience an asset)
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
