The Lax Kw’alaams Band and the Truth and Reconciliation Department have an immediate opening for a contract full time Research Assistant to join the Truth and Reconciliation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Lead Researcher with archival research, data entry, digitization of records, transcription and other tasks related to the research component of the Project. They will join a passionate team that is committed to complete confidentiality regarding the materials investigated in the research.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in reviewing relevant files and documents.
• Assist in digitizing archival records and organizing them in the provided manner.
• Analyze, summarize and interpret data, while also assisting in primary source analysis.
• Transcribe primary sources, testimonies, audio files and other information.
• Record, analyze and code data accurately and efficiently.
• Assist and support Warrior Testimonies.
• Attend Project meetings and required events.
• Write reports and support other research tasks related to the Project.
• Assist in additional tasks as needed.
