Position Overview:

Finning Canada is seeking a Yardperson to join our dynamic team in Edmonton. As the Yardperson you are responsible for assisting with day-to-day yard activities for the branch.

Job Description:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Day to day yard activity including moving equipment back to proper storage areas assist customers and delivery drivers in yard with loading and unloading equipment / helping direct them to office or unloading areas
• Maintains yard organization and cleanliness to align with Finnings housekeeping and safety standards
• Accurately process all incoming and outgoing paperwork
• All other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum three months of operating experience of rough terrain forklift counterbalance forklift compact construction equipment large construction equipment is an asset
• Familiarity with heavy equipment or a similar industry would be considered an asset
• Previous heavy equipment operation experience is an asset
• Safety conscious team player with a keen attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with computers

Important Details:

• Due to physical nature of the work a requirement of the job is to be considered fit for work.
• Work will be outdoors and indoors with general warehouse conditions. This position requires frequent lifting and significant degree of walking bending and transporting objects of various weights and dimensions. This job requires interaction with co-workers and the public
• Shift Changes will be in accordance with the CBA
• Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
