Our Hamilton-based client is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and improving mechanical systems and components. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in steel manufacturing and system design, utilizing advanced CAD tools and programming skills. The Mechanical Engineer will collaborate across departments to develop efficient solutions that meet quality standards and project deadlines.

Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a range of technical capabilities with the experience of Mechanical Engineering and design, development of project documents including (bill of materials, calculations, owners’ manual, analysis reports, drawings, specifications, startup and commissioning instructions, maintenance instructions, spare parts list, etc.).
• Conduct detailed analysis of current and new products using analytical methods, in-house design tools / software and other commercial software.
• Conduct necessary background research, modeling, analysis and testing of various design options in support of new technology development and new product development projects.
• Actively engage with vendors of various components and sub-systems to successfully develop new technology, components and product through active collaboration, specification, review, testing, evaluation, and analysis.
• Estimating the product solution, and all other engineering activities from concept through product launch as well as take part in cost improvement and product maintenance activities and more.
• Hands on design – (produce and review reports, analyses, specifications, calculations, drawings, plans, etc.)
• Work with junior engineers and act as a validator to attest to the competencies of the candidate engineer during their progress in applying for licensure with the Professional Engineers Ontario.

Monday – Friday – 40-hour work weekdays

Salary : range from CA $75,000- CA $110,000 annual salary
