Our Distribution team is currently seeking Construction Managers to join our team, based out of our Vaughan, ON office.
Reporting to the Vice President, Distribution Operations, these positions plan and direct all crew activities, lead the site work force, coordinate daily work activities, work closely with the project team and client, and manage sub-contractors. They are accountable for the overall safety, quality, budget, schedule and progress of all construction activities on their assigned projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring all staff carry out their duties in accordance with their role requirements
- Responsibility for site surveillance to ensure specifications and methodologies for delivery on contracts are complied with
- Report weekly progress against program; identify unplanned works and associated costs
- Perform work in accordance with all organizational requirements, as well as provincial and federal health and safety standards and legislation, ensuring highest standard of safety is upheld
- Participate in and / or lead safety meetings, including identification of potential work site hazards
- Ensure appropriate tools are transported to the worksite as required and are properly functioning prior to utilization.
- Oversee all forms of labour to assist in the successful completion of construction projects from start to finish
- Tend to and operate a variety of machines and equipment necessary for the job.
- Ensure crews are aware and able to provide information on needed services. IE : Closest hospital, Control Centre, Utility Reps etc.
- Ensure that all procurement items are identified and adequately placed with the procurement department to enable the contract program to be carried out
- Manage a retrievable project filing system in accordance with company procedures
- Comply with and implement HR policies such as the disciplinary procedure
Requirements
Post-Secondary Education in a related field ( Construction Management, Powerline Technician)Alternative experience + certifications may be consideredMust have proven overhead distribution line work experienceDemonstrated experience leading construction projects, including supervisors / foremanA proven track record of compliance with Safe Work PracticesBenefits
