Description
The Treasury Analyst is responsible for managing the organizations liquidity and financial risk. This role involves a wide range of activities, including cash forecasting, debt management, foreign exchange risk management, and investment management.
The successful candidate will work closely with various departments within the organization to ensure the company's financial health and stability.
Accountabilities
- Conduct financial evaluations and studies by gathering, researching, adjusting, and analyzing financial data and applying expert knowledge of banking and payment processes, financial evaluation, statistical analysis, and modeling tools using advanced skills in MS Excel or a data analysis software, to support strategic decision making..
- Assist managers of one or more business units in strategic decision-making by providing expert analytical support and consultative advice on complex business and financial planning issues in compliance with the financial requirements of BC Hydro’s regulated environment.
- Build meaningful relationships with internal clients by responding to finance related inquiries, resolving banking and finance related issues, and collaborating across functional areas using excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively translate complex finance concepts in a concise and simple manner.
- Contribute to the analysis of complex capital, operating or revenue budgets, initiatives or projects using good knowledge of audit practices and project management and excellent knowledge of costing, billing, and revenue procedures to adhere to financial policies and associated internal control frameworks at BC Hydro.
Required
- 5 years of financial work experience. Preference for candidates with at least two (2) years as an intermediate / senior financial analyst or equivalent.
- Knowledge of a regulated utilities industry, an asset for this role
- Knowledge of financial markets and economic trends.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze complex financial data.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial modeling tools.
- Work experience in a compliance role, an asset (nice to have)
- Knowledge of a regulated utilities industry, an asset (nice to have)
- Work experience in financial institutions, preferably in payments, an asset (nice to have)
- Advanced MS Office skills

- Every contractor must supply their own Windows 10 or 11 Laptop computer for the duration of the assignment.
- Every contractor must supply their own Smart Phone . This is needed to gain access to the Organizations network.
