Self Checkout Attendant – Walmart Canada
Position Summary
A Self‑Checkout Attendant assists customers in the processing of transactions through the self‑service area(s) and provides exceptional customer service to ensure a positive shopping experience and drive customer loyalty, while adhering to the Basic Beliefs and values of Walmart.
What You'll Do
- Keep the area non‑contaminated and free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and liquids.
- Educate customers on the correct and efficient use of self‑service options when applicable.
- Promote company sponsor programs, e.g., credit card service, product protection, and charity initiatives when applicable.
- Observe the activities of a customer to determine when and if assistance is needed.
- When self‑service interventions and quality checks are required, politely explain the reasons and reassure customers that periodic checks are normal protocol.
- Demonstrate knowledge about responding to EAS alarms and filling out the "Failure to Deactivate" Log.
- Call the Customer Service Manager when the self‑service area(s) is low on cash or has a technical issue.
- Return Scan & Go scanners to their home after use.
Compensation
The minimum rate of pay for this position starts at $17.75. The rate will be determined based on relevant experience.
