Overview
Job Purpose : A Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and processing incoming shipments to ensure accuracy, quality and organized storage of inbound goods.
Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect inbound goods and verify quantity, quality, and accuracy of items against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Assist with stock organization, stock checks and cycle counts.
- Review inventory for damage or expiration dates and notify the appropriate party when inventory adjustments are required.
- Maintaining inventory codes by updating descriptions, cross references, aisle / warehouse location codes and UPC codes
- Label, sort, and stage received items for proper storage or staging.
- Working with purchasers to set up warehouse / store locations for new stocking items.
- Assist in determining root causes on inventory discrepancies and help implement corrective actions to eliminate repetitive errors.
- Notifying purchasing and / or inventory receiver when discrepancies between the purchase order.
- Reviewing the quality of inventory and providing a list of items that should be considered clearance or unsaleable to the operations manager.
- Maintain the organization of the warehouse overstock and store aisles.
- Restock goods into retail store from the overstock / warehouse area.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area, adhering to all safety protocols.
