- Purpose :
- The Senior Network Analyst will work closely with the Infrastructure and Security teams, provide day-to-day operational support for Corporate and OT networks, act as a back-up for other Network Analysts, and participate Networking and Infrastructure-related projects as directed.
- Main Responsibilities & Activities :
- Provide tier 2 day-to-day support for all network and connectivity issues, supporting more junior team members.
- Act as a point person and provide oversight for both corporate and OT networks, field communications, firewalls, VPN tunnels, modems and other related devices.
- Actively participate in troubleshooting, break-fix, and major incident management.
- Monitor network devices and install vendor patches to resolve known bugs and vulnerabilities.
- Manage IP addresses and subnets.
- Develop and maintain documentation for Whitecap networks and related processes.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
- Monitor network performance metrics and contribute to monthly and quarterly reports.
- Write, implement, and manage change controls as directed.
- Participate in network and infrastructure projects and post-completion support as required.
- Analyze and monitor network performance and contribute to capacity planning.
- Procure, configure, setup and deploy network hardware and software to support LAN, WAN, WLAN and Cloud networking solutions as directed.
- Participate in ongoing research and development of new technologies for business requirements.
- Keep up with advancements in network technologies and solutions.
- Occasional travel to field sites in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
- Other duties as required.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
- 5+ years of experience as a network analyst, or similar.
- CCNP level knowledge / experience (certification preferred).
- Independently motivated individual with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge and operational understanding of various WAN connectivity strategies.
- Proficient understanding of Cisco Catalyst and Nexus route / switch and wireless environments, Palo Alto and FortiNet platforms / hardware.
- Experience with network protocols : OSPF, STP, EtherChannel, IPSec, 802.1x, 802.1q.
- In-depth knowledge of network hardware, software, security and installation techniques.
- Exceptional abilities to troubleshoot and collaborate with others to resolve incidents.
- Strong understanding of network segmentation strategies and functional understanding of Purdue Model framework for segmenting Industrial Control systems.
- Proficiency in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics.
- Works well in a team environment, with strong communication and inter-personal skills.
