The Opportunity :

The Product Development & Mechanical Engineer oversees the development and testing of point-of-sale merchandising solutions including the analysis of proposals, conducting research, and overseeing a successful prototype fabrication.

This role is instrumental in delivering not only innovative solutions but practical, functional and tailored to client needs.

Responsibilities :

• Analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine the feasibility & tolerances of design or application for point-of-sale displays and merchandising solutions.
• Research, conceptualize, and develop custom point of sale displays and merchandising solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to oversee prototype fabrication, ensuring compliance with engineering and customer requirements.
• Develop test specifications, procedures, and objectives, and conduct operational tests to gather data for development, standardization, and quality control
• Review and evaluate designs, recommending modifications to enhance functionality and address technical challenges.
• Provide technical expertise for product development and quality control initiatives.
• Analyze test results to meet design specifications and objectives, adjusting equipment as needed.
• Lead cost reduction initiatives, compile relevant data, and make recommendations for optimization, while overseeing all technical activities for product development.

What we are looking for :

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Proven experience in mechanical product development, preferably in a manufacturing or display industry.
• Strong knowledge of injection moulding from conceptualization to final mould part
• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software.
• Proven proficiency in Solidworks 3D and or Rhinoceros 3D software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of merchandising solutions technologies and industry trends is a plus.
