Mac-Weld Machining Ltd. is seeking a General Maintenance Worker to take on the task of sharing our vision locally and globally.

The General Maintenance worker is responsible for inspecting different equipment and performing any basic repairs or preventative maintenance when required.

Skills & Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Handle basic repairs and maintenance
• Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary
• Diagnose mechanical issues and correcting them
• Repair machines, equipment, or structures as necessary
• Conduct basic maintenance repairs of facility including plumbing and some electrical work
• Troubleshoot machine problems as they arise
• Other assigned duties

Qualifications

• 2+ years of maintenance experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Professional Trades Certification is an asset
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
• Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts
• Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary
• Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches
• Experience with tools, precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices
• Experience performing routine maintenance
• Strong math skills

This is a full-time permanent position in our Sarnia facility.

Wage : $19-$25 / hr

Signing Bonus : New regular employees will receive a signing bonus of $500 after successfully completing their three month probationary period, and $1000 after one year of continuous employment.

The employee must be on active payroll for the entire timeframe to qualify. Contract positions do not qualify for the signing bonus.
