Your Opportunity :
The Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) program provides treatment for people living in the community who have borderline personality disorder and who have been identified within the system as DBT team's intensive and specialized care.
The DBT team provides service to clients with particularly complex, severe, and persistent struggles. The DBT program has an immediate opening for a Clinical Supervisor.
Reporting to the manager, this individual is responsible for supporting and supervising therapists on the team in the delivery of adherent Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), including mental health therapists, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapist, clinical behavioural specialist, nursing,.
and trainees in these respective disciplines. The Clinical Supervisor also works closely with the psychiatrists and physician trainees who work and train within the team.
The DBT program provides all four modes of standardized DBT treatment; : individual therapy, group therapy, consultation team for the therapists and phone coaching.
Description :
As a Clinical Supervisor, you will provide clinical supervision for a discipline, practice area or service sector supporting clinicians to provide excellence in professional practice and enable quality, patient and family-centered care.
In this clinical leadership role, you will provide clinical supervision to staff providing addiction and / or mental health services to individuals, families, and groups.
This role involves supervision related to a range of assessment, mental health (psychosocial and psychological interventions), and other activities.
You will be required to supervise regulated staff requiring supervision to meet the regulatory requirements for practice, and / or to unregulated staff providing the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention.
This may include observing clinical sessions, reviewing clinical documentation and written reports, conducting team case consultations and offering support, and providing guidance and direction to clinical staff with challenging and urgent cases in a timely manner.
In your role, you may work with members of the interdisciplinary team, psychiatrists and community partners in support of effective professional and collaborative practice.
You may contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of mental health treatment services in a hospital setting or community.
You may also identify and address gaps in clinical practice as well as facilitate addressing of system level gaps and risk management issues.
You may provide support to leadership in the hiring, orientation and performance evaluation of clinical staff.
Required Qualifications : Additional Required Qualifications :
1-3 years in a supervisory role in an outpatient addiction and mental health clinic or demonstrated leadership experience within a DBT specific program.
Specialized training in DBT is required, either Intensive training or foundational training provided by a recognized DBT training program.
A sound working knowledge of the underpinnings of DBT including the skills, the strategies and a personal mindfulness practice.
Demonstrated ability to manage the day-to-day clinical concerns of a busy outpatient addiction and mental health clinic.
Experience working with high risk, high acuity populations.Experience working in collaboration with larger organizational systems.
Knowledge and experience with the Outpatient Services Redesign.Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to function effectively in dynamic situations and remain accountable. Demonstrated conflict resolution skills, change management skills, and providing and receiving feedback.
Demonstrated ability to be creative, flexible, well-organized, efficient, self-directed, dependable, and a collaborative systems thinker.
Strong computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
For MSW, a clinical specialization is preferred.Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) TrainingExperience in providing and / or supervising Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Trauma-focused therapy (ex.
Accelerate Resolution Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
