Stuart Olson is searching for Journeyperson Instrumentation Technicians to join us for our 2024 turnaround at our client site in the Conklin area.

Responsibilities

  • Tests troubleshoot and repair transmitters, switches, control valves.
  • Calibrate and adjust set points on a variety of different instruments.
  • Coordinate with control room to stroke and function test valves and dampers.
  • Install and trouble tubing and air actuated instruments.
  • Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Repair faulty equipment or systems.
  • Completion of client mandatory site training requirements, ESC Permits, Isolations and Lockouts
  • Strong mathematical, scientific, mechanical, and logical reasoning abilities
  • Positive attitude towards safety with the ability to work collaboratively with the team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Focus on customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Certified Journeyperson Instrumentation ticket
  • Will consider Apprentices that have experience working on a large complex petro-chemical facility
  • Industrial maintenance experience working on a SAGD petro-chemical facility is an asset.
  • Compliance to site Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol testing
  • Valid driver’s license and current driver abstract.

Energy Safety Canada (ESC) H2s Alive ESC Fall Arrest ESC Confined Space ESC AWP an asset

Working Conditions

  • CSA approved steel-toed safety boots will be required.
  • Working both indoors and outdoors in hot and wintry weather conditions; in and around noise and dust
  • Coveralls, safety glasses / goggles, hard hat and gloves are provided.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Stand or walk for extended periods of time and able to climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
