Our client requires a claims specialist for managing childcare claims processes, ensuring payment accuracy, and resolving complex provider inquiries. This role involves quality assurance, post-payment verification, system testing coordination, and recovery of grant funding, while providing policy input and supervising claim payment coordinators.
Resource will work remotely but may change to hybrid or onsite. Standard Hours of work are 08 : 15 – 16 : 30 Alberta time. Work must be done from within Canada, due to network and data security issues. Resource is responsible to pay for travel to on-site meetings.

Responsibilities
Duties Include :
- Manage childcare claims lifecycle, including pre-payment quality assurance and post-payment verification to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Investigate and resolve complex provider inquiries, claim adjustments, and technical issues related to online submissions and payment processes.
- Identify system gaps, recommend enhancements, and coordinate testing plans for information system improvements.
- Monitor and report on grant funding recovery activities, including tracking repayments, issuing requests, and escalating overdue cases.
- Prepare detailed reports on claims activity, internal controls, and risk assessments using Ministry reporting systems.
- Supervise and train claim payment coordinators, assign tasks, monitor performance, and address knowledge gaps
Mandatory Requirements
High School Diploma / GED.The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, management and vendors.The ability to learn quickly, problem solve / troubleshoot, work independently and in a team.1 year work experience creating and using advanced Excel skills such as Pivot table, VLOOKUP etc.2 years’ experience using MS Office 2010 products or higher versions.2 years’ experience working in a team environment and managing others in a team environment.1 year strong analytical, decision-making and organizational skills1 year experience working in a role that required excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work / tasks.1 year experience working in a role that required strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.Proven ability to show initiative and exercise sound business judgement with decision making in a fast paced and sometimes stressful environmentDesirable Requirements
2 years’ ability to learn quickly, problem solve / troubleshoot, work independently and in a team.Available for onsite meetings in Edmonton as required. Frequency of onsite meetings are three times per week.1 year experience using analytical and problem solving skills to plan and design creative solutions.
