Dillon’s Land Development Business Unit is looking for a Civil Engineer – Project Manager to join our multidisciplinary team. The role is based in our Calgary or Winnipeg offices, offers flexible work hours, and a hybrid work arrangement.
Responsibility Overview
Project Manager Component
- Lead project management for land development projects.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating activities for supporting staff and provide quality assurance.
- Manage communication with approval agencies, clients, and budgets, including invoicing and scheduling deliverables.
- Coordinate with Contract Administration to protect client interests during construction implementation and pre‑construction meetings.
- Support post‑construction activities such as letter of credit reductions, construction certifications, municipal assumption activities, and financial management (invoicing, collections, AR, backlog analysis).
Project Engineer Component
Prepare and coordinate detailed design activities : earthworks, site grading, sewer and watermain design, phasing plans, road and parking lot design, utility coordination, stormwater and groundwater management, erosion and sedimentation control plans.Collaborate with project managers, team leads, and designers on design and approval tasks, including PSI, Functional Servicing Reports, Design Briefs, and Stormwater Management Reports.Work directly with project consultants and client representatives to facilitate design coordination and address approval agency comments.Provide leadership and technical guidance to junior staff, assisting in their skill development.Organize and lead municipal engineering designs (Civil 3D and other land‑development software are assets).Learning & Development
Commit to self‑development and ongoing professional learning.Support junior staff through technical direction, training recommendations, coaching, and mentoring.Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through professional associations and committees.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.P.E. ng is an asset but not required.Knowledge of AutoCAD / Civil 3D, subdivision and site‑plan design.Working knowledge of stormwater management practices and techniques.Experience
5‑10 years of project management experience in the civil / land‑development sector.Excellent communication and report‑writing skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple project timelines.A passion for new design‑software techniques and staying at the industry’s leading edge.A desire to make a practical, positive impact within project budgets and agency approvals.Why Choose Dillon
