Primary Objective Of The Position
Coordination and oversight of Technical Dispatch of Cargojet’s aircraft, responsible for coordinating aircraft troubleshooting duties and defect rectification.
Essential Position Functions
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance for all maintenance carried out on company aircraft.
- Guide and direct Cargojet and contracted maintenance organizations to ensure compliance, maintenance requirements, maximum serviceability of aircraft, on-time performance and aircraft utilization in accordance with Cargojet Policy and Procedures.
- Manage the technical dispatch of all Cargojet and customer aircraft in conformance with applicable standards of airworthiness.
- Act as a focal point of contact for all maintenance activities including irregular (IROPS) and emergency operations.
- Moderate and attend production meetings and maintain shift.
- Monitor all defects and applied MELs to ensure expiration dates are not exceeded and ETOPS critical items are identified. Coordinate, issue, support troubleshooting, resolution and track MEL / CDL / DMI.
- Coordinate parts, manpower, facilities and aircraft downtime for rectification of defects.
- Ensure adequate resources are available to support MCC.
- Monitor engine oil consumption, ETOPS and RVSM.
- Organise repair efforts on out-of-service aircraft and AOG events.
- Assign, coordinate, and ensure the timely completion of work by technicians on company aircraft.
- Stay current with all technical and regulatory training required to function in the role.
- Meet shift workload requirements and coordinate maintenance shift.
- Participate in team member activities.
- Coordinate and communicate with dispatch, management and flight operations departments.
- Follow company procedures for maintenance control.
- Knowledgeable with all company and government manuals.
- Continuously update the Senior Director of MCC and other senior management on operational status of the fleet.
- Ensure a clean and safe workplace for the team.
- Ensure compliance with Safety Management System (SMS) and safety / security policies, procedures and standards.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Key Objectives
Team members possess an Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) Licence issued by Canada’s Ministry of Transport (CAN) which permits them to certify aircraft as ready and in sound condition for flight.Support the mechanical work at the skilled level involving repair, rebuilding, overhaul, maintenance and servicing of aircraft operated by Cargojet and mechanical repair work on accessories.Ensure requirement maintenance, proactive maintenance actions and predictive maintenance principles are applied.Coordinate the performance of structural repairs on aircraft and liaise with external engineering services as required.Perform other related duties on Cargojet’s fleet of aircraft and equipment with high quality.Provide a high level of aircraft technical dispatch reliability.Key Responsibilities
Service, inspect, troubleshoot and repair aircraft procedures.Ensure that all aircraft and equipment are maintained and serviced in a timely manner.Carry out daily aircraft maintenance and overhaul assignments.Review reporting of aircraft and engine status, make repairs, replacements and adjustments in accordance with approved procedures.May be required to fly with aircraft as flight engineer.Key Competency Requirements
Ability to operate aircraft and engines and taxi Cargojet’s aircraft.Ability to taxi and perform engine runs as approved by Cargojet’s quality standards.Required ability to lift 50 lbs for component replacements.Knowledge, Abilities & Skills
Thorough knowledge of aircraft maintenance procedures and inspection.Knowledge of aircraft materials and parts and regulations governing their acceptance for registered aircraft and quarantine action procedures.Knowledge of safety precautions and fire.Ability to select and record data necessary to substantiate maintenance actions.Proficiency in measuring instruments and test equipment.Ability to sequence work programs.Education, Training & Experience
Education obtained through progressive post‑secondary aircraft technical training and aircraft endorsement courses.Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Licence issued by the Ministry of Transport.Minimum Qualifications
Valid AME M2 and / or E License (Transport Canada).Aircraft endorsement & experience on aircraft type B757.Minimum six years experience as a licensed aircraft maintenance engineer.Previous MCC experience.Ability to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) and an Airside Vehicle Operator’s Permit (AVOP).Computer proficiency – MS Word & Excel, MS Teams.Excellent communication skills and problem‑solving.Detail‑oriented, able to multitask and work well under pressure.Important To Know
