Our client, a Not-for-Profit organization with operations across Canada, seeks a Controller to support the team for a 6-month term. This role has the potential to go long-term.

Reporting directly to the CFO your responsibilities will be to:

- Prepare monthly, and quarterly Financial Statements

- Prepare and present Management Reports

- Manage the Year-End Audit and act as the primary contact with the auditors

- Manage the foundation audit

- Ensure that operations maintain an effective and efficient financial close process

- Manage 8 staff who are responsible for Financial Analysis, AR, AP, and Payroll

- Manage the accuracy of Fund Accounting

- Variance analysis

- Act as key point of contact for any accounting related queries

Job Requirements:

To be considered for this opportunity, you are a designated finance professional (CPA or equivalent), with at least 5 years’ experience working in a leadership role. Strong Not-for- Profit reporting experience is essential to be successful in this position.

In addition, the following skills are desired:

- Ability to independently manage month end close

- Experience with fund accounting

- Strong attention to detail

- Experience with systems implementation is highly desirable

- Superior communication skills

- A keen eye for process improvement
