Cascadia Metals is seeking a reliable, motivated Administrative Assistant to join our Calgary team. This role supports the day-to-day efficiency of the office and provides administrative assistance across all departments. As the go-to resource for administrative requests and projects, the successful candidate will enjoy a variety of tasks and be comfortable stepping in wherever needed.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and respond to inquiries in person, by phone, and by email.
- Process Accounts Receivable : deposits, credit card payments (Moneris), apply payments in Steel Plus, and release orders upon payment.
- Provide customer statements and support AR-related questions.
- Act as branch Accounts Payable contact : pre-approve freight / office invoices and prepare weekly packages for manager approval.
- Support customer service and sales : process POs, create sales orders, provide order updates, and complete inventory lookups.
- Order office and warehouse supplies as needed.
- Prepare end-of-day outbound shipment report and ensure freight costs are allocated accurately across orders.
- Provide administrative support to staff, managers, and sales representatives.
- Complete general office duties (copying, scanning, courier, mail receiving / distribution, inter-branch communication).
- Collect and submit expense reports for the office and designated personnel.
Requirements
1+ year of experience in an administrative, receptionist, or customer service role.Post-secondary education preferred.Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills.Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.Able to work independently and collaboratively.Joining Cascadia Metals means being part of a thriving and expanding organization that values its employees.
