Partner Staffing on behalf of our Client, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their Calgary office. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong background in building mechanical systems design and project delivery across commercial, institutional, and healthcare sectors specializing in Plumbing. The successful candidate will manage multi-disciplinary project teams, liaise directly with clients, and ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest technical standards.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Estimator to join a team of experienced construction professionals. The successful candidate will bring a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and an entrepreneurial mindset to each project.
Participate in the full estimating cycle, including tender submissions, conceptual estimates, and pre-construction schedules for Project Manager review
Prepare lump-sum estimates for materials, labor, subcontractors, and equipment based on contract bids, drawings, specifications, and quotations
Complete quantity surveys, unit pricing, general conditions costs, overhead application, and proposal terms and conditions
Collaborate with Project Managers to develop bid strategies and estimating approaches
Provide mentorship and guidance to assigned personnel involved in estimate preparation and revisions
Review bid packages, drawings, and specifications for completeness and accuracy
Perform detailed quantity take-offs for materials and supplies
Verify take-offs for mathematical and technical accuracy
Liaise with suppliers and obtain pricing quotations
Attend pre-bid meetings as required
Prepare final cost estimates, including overhead and profit adjustments
Present completed bid packages in accordance with client specifications
Review and incorporate addendums into tender submissions
Track actual project costs against estimates and identify opportunities for process improvement
Perform other related duties as required

Experience with estimating and construction software is considered an asset (e.g., Accubid, QuickPen, Pro core)
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience with a proven track record in the local market
Post-secondary degree, diploma, and/or valid Journey person certification in the mechanical field
Thorough understanding of local construction associations and related documentation
Strong knowledge of construction systems
Travel may be required
Position may require time spent on active job sites
