Electrical Engineer – Calgary

Job Description

As an Electrical Engineer within the E&IC group, you will work on multi‑disciplinary projects, interface with mechanical, structural, and civil engineers, and design medium voltage power systems, motor control centres, low voltage distributions, lighting, hazardous location classification, and fire alarm systems. You will supervise junior engineers or technicians, manage project planning, and review subordinates’ work for technical accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Registered Professional Engineer with APEGA.
  • 8+ years of experience in a multi‑disciplinary engineering setting.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design of power systems, control panels, cable schedules, hazardous area classification, lighting, and fire alarms.
  • Experience with single‑line diagrams, schematics, grounding, and specifications for electrical equipment.
  • Familiarity with CEC, IEC, NFPA, and other industry codes.
  • Project management experience is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Self‑starting, committed team player capable of independent work.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Education

    Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineeringp>
