We are looking for an experienced BMS Coordinator to join our team in completing the Edmonton Valley Line West LRT – a remarkable legacy project that will redefine our community’s transportation landscape. The coordinator will be responsible for the building’s technical systems including HVAC, automation and security systems from construction through to handover.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough testing and commissioning of Building Management Systems (BMS) to ensure proper functionality and integration with other building systems.
• Oversee the installation of BMS equipment and components, ensuring compliance with specifications and industry standards.
• Identify and resolve issues that arise during the testing and commissioning phase, providing effective solutions to ensure system performance.
• Prepare, review and maintain detailed documentation of testing procedures, results, and system configurations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Provide training and support to facility personnel on the operation and maintenance of BMS systems.
• Ensure that all testing and commissioning activities comply with local, provincial, and federal regulations, as well as industry best practices.
• Drive the BMS testing & commissioning phase of the Works, providing leadership and direction on progress, integration between systems testing, construction activities and operations.
• Develop and implement BMS commissioning and handover sequences, operational readiness strategies, guidance documents, templates, and ensure existing documentation is updated.
• Ensure correct interface documentation is in place and followed during testing and operational activities.
• Monitor and control test hierarchy and defined processes on site to support project “Commissioning Work” activities, commissioning milestones.
• Understand testing and operational sequences on site, attend or run commissioning meetings with subcontractors / suppliers to define and implement priorities to deliver project needs.
• Responsible for site safety during testing and commissioning activities, particularly during energization and dynamic testing.
• Coordinate and implement light / corrective maintenance with defined documentation during testing phase.
• Ensure project schedules are followed and communicated / updated so that deliverables are provided in a timely and cost-effective manner to all external and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure that Discipline Leads are applying the principles of validation as outlined in the T&C Plan.
• Ensure that all third‑party contractors consistently adhere to the installation and commissioning requirements and V&V processes.
• Utilize previous project knowledge and experience to find solutions to challenges and setbacks as they occur.
• Remain up to date on the most recent best practices to ensure that lessons learned across the industry are applied as required.
