WSP has a new opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Process Mine and Infrastructure Design team on a full-time basis based in Mississauga .

The team you will join is involved in designing mining infrastructure with a multi-discipline team including dewatering, ore handling, paste backfill, tailings disposal, shotcrete, fuel and lube delivery and truck shops, pumping systems for mining, landfills and contaminated soil sites.

What you can expect to do here :

• Prepare equipment and construction specifications;
• Direct the preparation of design drawings;
• Support technical and project execution activities such as electrical equipment procurement packages, preparing project estimates, etc.;
• Support construction and commissioning;
• Liaise with internal clients regularly to ensure project objectives are being managed and achieved in alignment with expectations;
• Participate in regular project meetings to ensure quality client delivery;
• Mentor junior staff;
• Other duties as required.

What you'll bring to WSP :

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university and / or equivalent qualification;
• Minimum of fifteen years of experience in engineering consulting;
• Previous electrical engineering experience on mining or industrial water treatment projects would be considered an asset;
• Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of software such as Word and Excel;
• Active professional member with PEO or another province. This is a mandatory requirement;
• Effective communication (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills.
