Insight Global is seeking a Station Assets Engineer to support the planning and development of capital sustainment, growth, and third‑party projects across electric substations. Reporting to the Senior Station Assets Engineer, this role plays a critical part in identifying asset investment needs, developing project scopes and cost estimates, and ensuring projects are planned with safety, operability, and long‑term maintainability in mind.
The ideal candidate is analytically strong, highly collaborative, and experienced working across engineering, operations, project management, system control, and external consulting teams. This position contributes directly to asset management processes, capital planning decisions, and long‑term system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and development of capital sustainment, growth, and third‑party projects for electric substation assets
- Identify, analyze, and prioritize asset investment needs aligned with asset management and capital planning strategies
- Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and supporting documentation to enable well‑defined project execution
- Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Project Management, System Control, and other internal stakeholders to ensure safe, operable, and maintainable project plans
- Collaborate with external engineering consultants to align technical deliverables and ensure quality outcomes
- Prepare business cases and supporting analysis for capital investment decisions
- Lead and participate in planning meetings, facilitating effective stakeholder alignment and decision‑making
- Enter and maintain project data within the Asset Investment Planning (AIP) tool to support long‑term capital planning and system reliability
- Support continuous improvement of asset management and planning processes
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of technical education and project management experienceMinimum 5 years of electrical engineering and project management experience within utility, engineering, construction, or similar environmentsStrong understanding of asset management and capital planning, including identification, scoping, and budgeting of capital and sustainment projectsDemonstrated experience in project development, including building business cases and coordinating multidisciplinary teamsProven ability to ensure project outcomes are safe, operable, and maintainableEffective communication and stakeholder coordination skills, including leading planning meetings and managing complex information flowsExperience using Asset Investment Planning tools or similar capital planning systemsProfessional registration such as EIT, P.L.Eng., or P.Eng. (an experienced P.Eng. strongly preferred)Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications
