Our client is an established firm with over 90 years of experience in the development and maintenance of municipal water wells and pumping equipment.
They are an industry leader providing both engineering and contracting services to a wide range of municipal and industrial clients including the development, management, and maintenance of municipal and industrial water wells along with supply, installation and maintenance of well pump systems and lift station pumping equipment.
The Position :
Our client is actively looking for a Project Engineer to join their team on a permanent full-time basis. In this role you will work with the President and the Senior Project Engineer to provide engineering support on the design, selection and supervision of company projects.
Responsibilities :
- Design, select and price vertical turbine and submersible pumps for various applications
- Prepare quotes / tenders for municipal well and pump supply and / or maintenance and well rehabilitation programs
- Design, manage and supervision of pump maintenance and well rehabilitation programs
- Maintain client contacts, and manage scheduling and specific site requirements for IWS service crews
- Involved with the oversight and management of shop operations
- Opportunity for supervision of more junior staff and field crews
- Prepare project reports and draft invoices for projects
- Office administration, as required
- Opportunity for assignments in field and on job sites as well as hands on projects

- Occasionally attend conferences and trade shows
- Other duties as assigned and as they arise
Requirements :
Registered Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario in good standing. Related disciplines : Civil and / or Mechanical.
Experience with rotating equipment a benefit.
- 5-8 years project management experience preferred
- Willingness to learn, proactive and able to problem-solve to complete projects independently as well as in a team structure
- Ability to identify areas of improvement and efficiency opportunities in work processes
- Strong interpersonal skills to work as a team member
- Strong knowledge of standard office software
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience in municipal well supply or municipal water pumping station infrastructure is an asset but will train successful applicant
- Willingness and ability to travel to client sites within Ontario, when required
- Workweek is 37.5 40 hours
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
