Manager, Technical Systems & Services – Trans Mountain
Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington state. Trans Mountain also operates a state‑of‑the‑art loading facility, Westridge Marine Terminal, with three berths providing tidewater access to global markets. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute technology strategy to sustainably evolve solutions that meet the growing needs of the organization, including mobility and collaboration.
- Maintain the daily operational continuity and performance of all technology systems and services, promptly resolving issues and ensuring the currency and security of solutions.
- Document and enhance foundational processes, ensuring work is prioritized and structured.
- Update, maintain and test the IT Disaster Recovery Plan, conduct annual tabletop exercises and support the Business Continuity Plan and emergency management requirements.
- Assess business needs, design solutions in collaboration with the Architecture team, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Lead the Technical Support practice, managing Service Desk, Deskside Support and Field Support to exceed customer experience expectations.
- Implement process maturity and governance, integrating ITIL and other frameworks.
- Establish KPIs and KRIs to provide visibility into work and identify risk mitigation opportunities.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of technical support experience and leadership of a team.Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related field.ITIL, Agile / Lean or PMP certifications are an asset.Extensive knowledge of networks, servers, operating systems, architecture, storage and cloud.Functional knowledge of ITIL and ability to apply its structure.Experience with ServiceNow and reporting is an asset.Understanding of Service Desk / Deskside operations.Experience managing infrastructure technology in an operational technology (OT) environment is an asset.Telecommunications experience, including fiber networks, is an asset.Proficiency with project delivery methodology and frameworks.Previous experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning, testing and execution.Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.Relocation Eligibility
