ABOUT THE ROLE

The Therapeutic Recreationist uses recreational activities to enhance independence and support a fulfilling leisure lifestyle. They are responsible for conducting assessments, designing and implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes to foster skill development across all areas of leisure. Working as a member of an interprofessional team, the Therapeutic Recreationist also serves as a consultant to other disciplines and external agencies.

• Degree / diploma in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies with Therapeutic Recreation course content (Therapeutic Recreation specialization)
